Mission Statement

The Rich River Health Group aims to provide a quality healthcare service that will benefit our patients’ health and well being.

Appointments and Enquiries

Appointments are essential. We have a 10-minute appointment booking system. If you require a longer appointment, please inform the receptionist when making your appointment. Unless it is an emergency, it may be necessary to make another appointment to be able to deal with all the issues, you may have.

We do try to run on time but this is not always possible and we apologise for any delay. We encourage patients to ring ahead of their appointment to see how their doctor is running, as we understand your time is important.

Please advise the receptionist if more than one person in your family needs to be seen, as more than one appointment time will be required.

Other services that require a longer appointment include, complete medical checkups, insurance exams, pre-employment medicals, drivers licence exams and surgical procedures. Please advise at the time of making the appointment which of the above you need performed.

SMS REMINDER SYSTEM

We now send SMS Text messages two day prior to Appointment, If unable to attend you need to cancel appointment otherwise a $25 no show fee will be charged.

AFTER HOURS

Our home visit after hours service is provided for our patients by calling 03 5480 6700. Alternatively please contact your nearest casualty department.
In the event of an emergency, please call an ambulance on 000.

HOME VISITS

Home visits may be available for regular patients who live locally and are too ill to attend our practice. Please contact reception if you require this service.

COMMUNICATIONS

To facilitate continuity of care, patients need to have access to a GP via telephone or electronic means to discuss their medical care when a consultation is not considered clinically necessary. You may receive electronic communication via SMS or email from time to time offering preventative health services and/or appointment reminders – please advise our reception staff if you do not wish for this to occur. Patients are able to request a written copy of our policy on receiving and returning electronic communication via our reception staff or Practice Manager.

BULK BILLING

Doctors at Rich River Health Group now bulk billing consultations only for children 15 years and under. This does not apply to any Saturday morning or after-hours consultations.

Personal Health Information

Your Medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. Please ask if you would like a copy of our privacy policy.

General Enquiries & Test Results

Due to patient confidentiality, test results are not given out over the telephone. Please make a follow up appointment with your doctor for test results. This will enable your doctor to be able to discuss the outcome of any tests.

It will also allow a treatment program to be planned and a review of your medical condition, in addition to any examination and further testing to be arranged if the diagnosis is still unclear.
