As our Accounts Payable / Receivable Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure smooth delivery of payments to suppliers, landlords and service providers across Australia. An opportunity to support accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliations and other accounting tasks will follow as you help drive process efficiencies into the role.
It is essential that you demonstrate experience working at a high volume (500+ invoices / week), multi-site service-based organisation where you’ve shown capability to balance invoice processing and customer service whilst developing efficiencies.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with Practice Managers, Operations leaders and your fellow finance team to ensure invoices are received, processed and approved efficiently and accurately.
- Processing supplier and landlord invoices, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with Australian GST laws and company policies.
- Responding to supplier and internal queries in accordance with agreed SLA expectations.
- Monitoring unapproved transactions and driving timely resolution through to payment.
- Preparing weekly batch payments along with any ad-hoc daily payment requirements.
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and internal controls.
- Driving process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and compliance.
This role offers variety and development potential, with scope to support broader accounting activities including accounts receivable and balance sheet reconciliations.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Progressing towards CPA or CA accounting qualifications is desirable but not mandatory
- Demonstrated accounts payable experience in a high-volume, multi-site, service-based organisations processing a upwards of 500 invoices per week.
- Strong understanding of Australian GST legislation and its appropriate application when preparing payments.
- Demonstrate examples of critical thinking and problem solving within a fast paced, growing organisation.
- Positive attitude with exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a finance team and collaborate with other business teams.
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Proficient in IT applications including Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and large ERP applications, MYOB Advanced (Acumatica) desirable.
- Prior experience using TrailD a plus!
