After Hours
If you have an emergency medical problem you should always call 000 or visit your nearest hospital emergency department.

For less urgent needs and to see a doctor outside of normal business hours please call:

For 24 hours a day (7 days a week) health care advice you can contact Health Direct (a medical triage service) on 1800 022 222

We offer same day appointments.

We respect our patient’s needs and offer a range of appointment types to suit your care needs. If you have a complex medical issue to discuss with your GP or several requests to make you may need a longer appointment. Longer appointments can include medical assessments eg RTA, Centrelink, Pap Smears etc. Please advise our reception staff if you think you will require a longer appointment time at the time of booking. Making the right appointment for your needs will help your GP to run on time. If you arrive for your appointment and you think you require urgent assistance (chest pain, difficulty breathing, dizziness or severe pain) or if you believe you may be contagious (eg. ‘flu symptoms, gastro, child with a rash), please advise our reception staff immediately so that we may assist you.

Fees and Payment
Children under 16 years of age and Pension and Health Care card holders are bulk billed.

We have endeavoured to keep our fees down for other patients.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card (Visa & Master Card).

Your Medicare rebate can be claimed at reception after payment and deposited directly into your bank account if you have a current Medicare card and a Debit Card regardless of the method of payment.

Additional services booked with our Practice Nurses eg. immunisations, blood tests, dressings etc, and procedures are usually bulk billed. For some larger procedures a gap payment may be charged.

Gold Card Veterans’ Affairs patients are bulk-billed to DVA.

Home Visits
It is requested that whenever possible patients attend the surgery.

However home visits may be provided to regular patients who reside on the Tilligerry Peninsular and due to their medical condition are unable to attend the surgery.

Please contact the surgery to make arrangements for home visits.

Medical Certificates
You need to make an appointment with your doctor to obtain a medical certificate. Please contact our reception staff to make a booking.

New Patients
When you attend the surgery for your first appointment we request that you arrive 15min early to allow time for you to complete our Patient Registration form and Health Information Sheet

Privacy Policy and Management of Health Information
The Tilligerry Medical Practice Privacy Policy outlines how we handle personal information collected (including health information) and how we protect this information.

Our practice privacy policy reflects how our practice collects and uses personal information.

Our privacy policy is displayed in our waiting room and is readily presented to anyone who requests a copy.

Please make an appointment with your doctor for a referral prior to specialist appointments.

Repeat Prescriptions
In order to provide you with the best possible medical care, you will need to see a doctor for prescriptions.

Closed – 1.30pm to 2.00pm
Closed – Weekends and Public Holidays

Telephone calls to your doctor
Our doctors are usually unable to take telephone calls from patients while they are in consultation with other patients. Our reception staff are happy to take any messages and forward them onto your doctor.

Test Results
Your doctor may order tests and investigations. You will be instructed by your doctor when the tests are ordered if it is appropriate to contact the surgery or if you need a follow-up appointment to discuss your test results.

Urgent problems
Bookings for urgent problems are available. Please contact the surgery to discuss the problem and an urgent appointment will be allocated.
