Dr Thomas studied medicine in Scotland and went on to train as a GP in East Anglia before migrating with her young family to Australian 2007. Sixteen years in Bundaberg provided Deborah the opportunity to develop skills in all aspects of Australian General Practice and to develop a particular interest in women's health and mental health issues. Moving to Brisbane in 2023 to pursue these interests Deborah welcomes new patients all their health care needs but has a special interest in menopausal symptoms, psychological health and wellbeing, sexual health and wellbeing and contraception. She holds a certificate in Sexual Health and Family Planning, membership of the Royal College of GP's (UK), fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GP's and is member of the Australasian Menopause Society and attends conferences regularly to keep up to date in women's health and mental health care. She is able to assist with Implanon Insertion and Removal, Cerival screening, Iron Infusion and Minor Skin Excisions. Currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Psychology in her spare time, Deborah cherishes time with her family and enjoys reading,walking,and unwinding in the pool or at Yoga.

General Practitioner -
Dr Liz Westra graduated from the University of Queensland in 1986 and has been working in general practice since 1990.

Dr Liz is a General Practitioner with a particular interest in women's health. She is passionate about providing holistic health care to women of all ages with a focus on the "well women". Liz is trained in QLD, at the University of Queensland, then undertook 3 years of generalist hospital training before entering the speciality of general practice.

Liz is committed to practising evidence-based quality medicine and regularly updates her knowledge by attending seminars and lectures. Areas of speciality includes health screening, fertility, menopause, anxiety/depression and sexual health. Routine general practice problems are also welcomed.

Liz advocates a patient centred approach, allowing patients to be a partner in the management of their health needs. She is delighted to be a part of the Lilian Cooper Centre, a pleasant and supportive environment, where both staff and doctors are committed to helping patients achieve healthy, balanced lives.

In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit, golf, walking and reading, catching up with friends and nurturing her 4 adult children.

Dr Karen Yew graduated from the University of Queensland and completed her general practice training in Rockhampton in 2016. She developed a special interest in women's health whilst working in the Sunshine Coast where she did further training. Her interests are mainly menopause and contraception. She is an AMS member since 2022. Dr Karen is available for a full range of women's health procedures including Implanon insertions and removals. all types of IUD insertions and removals (including copper) and iron infusions. In her free time, Dr Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 young children. Originally from Singapore, she is fluent in Mandarin and is happy to consult in it.

General Practitioner -
Dr Linda Spinks graduated from Qld University in 1983 and practiced as a GP in rural Qld for 13 years where her interest in Womens Health and Menopausal Medicine developed. She was involved in developing preventive health screening clinics for women in smaller rural towns.

Her special interest is in Menopausal Medicine and she has been a member of the Australasian Menopause Society for more than 10 years. She has been Honorary Treasurer and Chair of the Education Sub Committee.

Linda has also been actively involved in the accreditation of general practices, having been a surveyor for Australian General Practice Accreditation and a member of the Review Committee.

Dr Mary-Jane Stanley is an experienced general practitioner commencing general practice work in 1993. For over 15 years, Mary-Jane has also gained valuable experience and knowledge in her role at family planning clinics and women’s health centres. Mary-Jane enjoys providing comprehensive general practice care. Furthermore, she has highly developed skills in managing women’s health with a specific interest in menopause and perimenopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pelvic pain and painful periods, and contraception. She provides Implanon insertion and removal, and IUD removal. She is aligned to provide shared antenatal care for Mater and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Dr Mary-Jane Stanley holds Fellowship of Royal Australian General Practitioner and Family Planning Association Certificate (National Certificate of Reproductive and Sexual Health). Mary-Jane is a member of Australasian Menopause Society, Pelvic Pain Foundation, and committee member of Queensland Pelvic Pain Network. Mary-Jane has been involved in clinical education to other general practitioners.She is a certified Implanon trainer and has provided lectures in menopause and clinical training for the FPAA (Family Planning Australia Alliance) certificate course.
