General Practitioner - Dr Nissen was born in Queensland and raised on the Sunshine Coast. She graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013 with dual degrees in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science. She spent three years at various Sunshine Coast Hospitals in a variety of different specialities, including paediatrics, ENT, palliative care, geriatric orthopaedics, cardiology and emergency, amongst others.
Casey has completed a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Westmead, Sydney. She also has a Professional Certificate in Dermoscopy (skin care).
She has spent 2019 working in various clinics throughout Australia, including remote Aboriginal Health Services.
She is looking forward to settling down permanently on the Sunshine Coast. She enjoys all forms of general practice.
General Practitioner - Dr Brits graduated from the University of Free State, South Africa in 1996. He and his family moved to Australia in 2000 when he commenced work in rural Australia. He worked in various specialities in the hospital environment before moving into General Practice.
He passed the Australian Medical Board Examination in 2004 and then went on to become a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural Medicine in 2005. Emile and his family moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2009 where Emile has worked as a GP.
Emile enjoys all aspects of General Practice and is happy to see anyone with any problem. Emile speaks fluent Afrikaans.
General Practitioner - Dr Gunson was born in the UK. He trained at Southampton University and qualified in 1992.
He worked in general surgery, general medicine, care of the elderly, orthopedics, accident and emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology and ear, nose and throat before commencing his General Practice training.
He completed his General Practice training in 1997 becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) and has since become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He, also, has a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstreticians and Gynaecologists and a Postgraduate Diploma in Therapeutics.
He worked in General Practice in England for 12 years and has since worked in General Practice in Mooloolaba, Queensland for 5 years.
Oliver is interested in all aspects of General Practice including management of acute illnesses, preventive care and management of chronic medical problems.
Oliver is married to Karen and they have twin boys Will and Sam. Oliver enjoys spending time with his family, getting out and about, reading and watching all things sport - especially Manchester United.
Dr Reuben Walker was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. After degrees in psychology and philosophy he undertook his bachelor of medicine / bachelor of surgery degrees at the University of Queensland. His intern years were spent in the Cairns base hospital where he worked in internal medicine, psychiatry, and accident & emergency.
Dr Walker then spent a year working in a remote hospital in South Africa before returning to small clinics in Darwin, Christmas Island and Nauru. Formal GP training was completed in northern NSW from 2014-17 along with a diploma of dermatology.
Dr Walker is interested in all areas of medicine, though has particular experience in mental health complaints, men's health and chronic disease management.
In his spare time you'll find Dr Walker on his mountain bike, exploring the outdoors or playing a board game with his family.
