The Family Doctor After Hours Services:

All calls are handled by Australian-registered general practitioners and are available for any patients needing medical care during after-hours. The after-hours service operates from 6 PM on weeknights until 8 AM the following morning, as well as all day and night on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Our practices are available in VIC, ACT, NSW, QLD, SA and WA.

After Hours and Telehealth:

Family Doctor operates a network of GP clinics across Australia, focused on accessible, quality care. You can now receive that same level of care from the comfort of your home after hours. Our after-hours team is available for phone and video consultations through our Telehealth platform. This service is accessible to all patients, including new ones, from anywhere in Australia. You can connect using any device, such as smartphones, tablets, iPads, laptops, or desktop computers.

We are committed to ensuring you have access to quality healthcare, even outside our regular operating hours. Here’s how you can get the support you need:

For Urgent Medical Attention

  • Call 000 immediately for emergencies.
  • Visit your nearest Emergency Department.

For Non-Emergency Health Advice

  • Contact Healthdirect, a 24-hour helpline provided by the Australian government.
  • Call 1800 022 222 to speak with registered health professionals, including GPs and nurses, for trusted advice via phone or video call.

If you would prefer to speak with a doctor online while your local clinic is closed, Family Doctor’s private telehealth arm MyGPOnline offers after-hours telehealth consultations by video or phone with AHPRA-registered doctors. Fixed fees apply and no Medicare rebate is available for this service.
