Our friendly staff are approachable & easy to communicate with in regards to your care and well being.
PRACTICE NURSE
Our Practice Nurses are responsible for telephone triage & are available by appointment for removal of stitches/sutures, minor procedures, childhood immunisations and travel immunisations. Patients with asthma, heart disease, hypertension & diabetes may see our nurse for routine monitoring including checking eligibility for a Medicare rebated care plan.
APPOINTMENTS
We prefer all patients to make an appointment, every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred date and time. If you have a complex problem or you require more than two people to be seen by the Doctor, please inform us so that adequate time can be allocated. Emergencies will always be given priority.

CONFIDENTIALITY / MANAGEMENT OF YOUR RECORD
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of the practice to maintain security of your personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized staff members.
HOME VISITS
Home visits from our doctors are available to elderly patients who are physically unable to visit the clinic. These visits should be booked through reception by phoning the clinic. Pensioners will be bulk billed, for private patients there will be a charge of $200.00
AFTER HOURS
Phone the Family Doctor After Hours Service on 8508 9955 for a home visit. Please note that a $200 out of pocket fee may apply.
HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
A fee may be charged for a transfer of your medical record. This will be at the doctor’s discretion upon receiving a written request from your new doctor which is required.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS/REFERRALS
Patients have the option of either making an appointment with a doctor to request these or can request for repeat prescriptions and referrals using our website Online Services.
Test results can only be given out during a follow-up consultation with a doctor or making a request online via our website. Please be aware that these services will incur a $25 fee and you will need to allow up to 5 working days for the request to be processed. Test results or information regarding test results, cannot be given out over the phone due to patient confidentiality.
Please note to use these services, you must be an existing patient and have been seen by a doctor in the last 6 months. This service does not apply to Mental Health Care Plans.
RESULTS
In your best interests you are encouraged to make an appointment to discuss your results with your Doctor. The doctor will advise you as to how to receive your results. Patients are requested to collect their X-Ray films.
TELEPHONE ACCESS
- If you need an appointment, please book with reception staff who may need to enquire regarding the urgency of your problem.
- If your doctor is busy, a message will be taken and they will contact you back at a convenient time.
- Our doctors do not consult over the phone – please contact the clinic to organise an appointment.
- Please wait until after 11am to call regarding results.
YOUR RIGHTS
If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk with your doctor or our practice manager (Brad), or you may contact The Health Services Commissioner on 1300 582 113 or the National Privacy Commissioner on 1300 363 992 to register your complaint.

At Alphington Medical Centre we strive for excellence within our practice, accommodating to both patient and staff needs and requests.
Upon completing our patient survey we found 88% of all patients ratings were good, very good or excellent upon visiting our clinic.
