Dr Jay Kuikel is an experienced General Practitioner and Psychiatry Registrar who will begin consulting at Ballarat Family Doctors in February 2026. With six years of GP experience and 2.5 years as a psychiatry registrar, Dr Jay has cared for patients in the Northern Territory, Shepparton, and Ballarat, including prior service in emergency and general medicine at Ballarat Base Hospital.
Returning to Ballarat—his long-term home—Dr Jay is dedicated to delivering compassionate, holistic care for local families and community members of all ages. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and has recently completed a Masters in Psychiatry through the University of Melbourne. Dr Jay especially enjoys supporting patients with mental health concerns, chronic disease management, and helping individuals achieve healthy, balanced lives.
New patients are warmly invited from February 2026 at Ballarat Family Doctors, where Dr Jay offers friendly, comprehensive general practice, mental health support, minor procedures, and ongoing care focused on patient wellbeing and positive health outcomes for the Ballarat community.

Dr Freeman received her Doctor of Medicine in the Cayman Islands in 2009. I started practicing medicine in Australia in 2015 and entered General Practice in 2017. Dr Freeman has also worked as a psychiatry Medical Officer at Werribee Mercy Hospital.My special interests are women and children's mental health, preventative counselling, chronic disease management and minor procedures.Dr Ganiyat Kemi Freeman is at Ballarat Family Doctors on a part time basis working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

Dr Noor E Sahar is a warm, compassionate and skilled General Practitioner with more than seven years of clinical experience in Pakistan’s primary healthcare system, serving diverse communities across both urban and rural settings. Her background includes extensive work in outpatient medicine, women’s health, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, and community health programs.Dr Sahar provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages and has particular interests in women’s reproductive and antenatal care, children’s health, diabetes and hypertension management, chronic disease care, mental health support, and minor procedures. She also has strong experience in vaccination and immunisation programs, including family counselling and community-level immunisation services. Moreover, she has additional trainings in medico-legal procedures and documentation, supporting her commitment to safe, careful and well-structured clinical practice.Patients value her gentle approach, attentive listening and clear communication. She is trained in BLS and ACLS and emphasises early detection, preventative health and long-term wellbeing. Dr Sahar aims to create a supportive environment where individuals and families feel respected, understood and well cared for.
