ECG
An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a non-invasive medical test that measures the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time. It is commonly used to detect and diagnose various heart conditions by recording the heart’s rhythm, rate, and electrical impulses as they travel through the heart’s chambers.
During an ECG, small electrodes are placed on the skin of the chest, arms, and legs, which detect and record the electrical signals produced by the heart. These signals are then displayed on a graph or monitor, showing the patterns of electrical activity known as waves.

Bulk Billing
Under bulk-billing, eligible patients can access medical services without any out-of-pocket costs, as the healthcare provider bills the government directly (usually through Medicare in Australia). This option is often available for services provided by general practitioners (GPs), specialists, and allied health professionals.
Patients who hold a valid Medicare card and meet certain criteria, such as concession cardholders or children under a certain age, are usually eligible for bulk-billed services.
