She also has a Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne. She completed her internship and residency at Sunshine Coast University Hospital before deciding to train in General Practice. She loves all areas of Family Medicine, looking after people of every age and background. As a Mum herself, she is particularly passionate about supporting women through from pregnancy planning to the postnatal period and beyond, and caring for babies and children. As a Nurse Practitioner, James is authorised to prescribe medications, initiate referrals to medical specialists, order pathology and diagnostic imaging, issue medical certificates, provide STI screening, administer iron infusions, and assess and manage lymphoedema. James is a qualified skin cancer practitioner and covers all areas of skin procedures. James is a highly experienced and sought-after Nurse Practitioner with a strong clinical background in Intensive Care and Acute Care Nursing. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Critical Care and a Master of Nursing Practice, and has further strengthened his clinical expertise through Master’s-level pharmacology studies at the University of Newcastle. This advanced training supports his work with patients presenting with complex and multifaceted health needs. James is a member of several professional organisations, including the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses, the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners, and the Australian Vascular Access Society. He has also undertaken extensive postgraduate training through the Australian Institute of Lymphoedema and is an accredited and endorsed lymphoedema practitioner with the Australasian Lymphology Association. James divides his clinical practice between lymphoedema assessment and management and general practice consultations. He is the Director of The Lymph Lab Pty Ltd, a specialist lymphoedema clinic focused on early assessment and intervention. His additional clinical interests include ultrasound-guided vascular access for patients with difficult venous access or procedural anxiety, child and adolescent health, and men’s health.
